Skate Wheels

Skate wheels are the portion of the skateboard that give it movement. They are made of polyurethane and come in a variety of hardnesses and sizes to accommodate the style of riding that the skater is looking for.

Hard skate wheels are the most conducive for the tricks. The hardness means that there is a minimal amount of lost effort placed into compressing the wheels, while the momentum is accurately transferred to the ground. Conversely, the softer the wheel the better it is at cushioning the weight of the deck and creating a smoother more even surface. The difference between these two wheels are polar opposites. The soft wheels function best over long distances where they shine by keeping the momentum of the rider with the larger wheelbase.

The skate wheels are colored on the desire of the customer. These wheels come in a variety of widths and colors, but they are generally colored in the manufacturing process. The hardness and color of the polyurethane is desirable to the skater because of the ease of tricks with harder wheels.
